Hi,

I am Seemanta Dutta, a software engineer (yet another!) from Hyderabad. I have set up this blog to showcase my stuff over the net. By stuff, I mean anything and everything from my creations, my views, my opinions, my experiences and everything in between that you can think of.

I extend my warmest welcome to you for visiting my blog. And while you are there, do leave in a comment ;-)

    sir,
    i want to know the exact programming of large electronic display board used in railway stations and courts. with one small display, one common display and with controllers (input from keyboard), layout and circuit diagram.
    it uses max232 and sn75176

    What do you mean exact programming ? Please, understand that if you take some time to explain your problem in detail then maybe I would also take some time to answer your query in detail.

    Don’t expect 10 page replies to 1 line queries.

    Hi Seemanta,
    I have never seen such enthusiasm to put up this much stuff on net. I have been very much involved in this embedded stuff activities 2 years back. Had I found your blog that time, it would have been great for me :)

    @Shushant:
    Thanks for liking my page. And by the way, it is never too late to start doing something, IMO.

    Its not like I didn’t do anything in this field. Its just like I am not interested anymore, I found some higher taste, some purpose of life, so all this stuff just seems so inferior to me!

    @Sushant:
    Yeah, I know. It happens. I am glad that you have found your true calling :-) .

    dear seemanta,

    I am currently working on a project involving pretty similar situations that you have developed. However I have no software background. Do you provide software advice with the use of ATMEGA32?

    Please email me soon..

    Thank you.

    @Mo

    @Mo,
    What is it exactly that you want to develop? If you want to work with microcontrollers you must first learn C and assembly before diving in. I suggest you pick up 8051 not ATMEGA32 for that. Buy the Mazidi book on 8051 and you can get started. It is a very simple book which will teach you basics of 8051 and then later you can graduate to ATMEGA32.

    Seemanta

    Ha! I found your blog while wondering through Youtube videos for the Dell 14z laptop (which I also bought a few hours ago). I have to say I am impressed with the amount of effort you put into this blog. I don’t really read blogs but there is a lot of interesting stuff on here.

    I looked into buying a few microprocessors a while back, and even kits like the Arduino to get started. I put it off though and I haven’t really investigated it any further; perhaps I will look into it again. The line following robot is really neat!

    Hi Seemanta
    I was going through your Origins series and learnt a lot of valuable information from them. Drawing inspiration from your creations I decided to build my own digital clock using a AT89S52 and a DS12887 that makes use of the power down mode like yours. But then, being a novice, I have no idea how to interface the 74123 multivibrator to get the ‘U’ signal from the ‘L’ generated at the RTC’s IRQ pin. Can please help me out with the circuitry…

    Best wishes
    Sandipan
